Description:This extended course is designed for those who want an in-depth understanding of avalanche safety and the skills to safely navigate winter mountain terrain. Over several days, participants will deepen their knowledge and practice advanced techniques.
Program highlights:- Avalanche hazard forecasting: reading avalanche bulletins, analyzing snowpack, evaluating weather conditions, and understanding factors affecting slope stability.
- Safe travel in avalanche terrain: choosing safe lines, proper slope travel techniques, identifying risk zones, and minimizing danger for yourself and your group.
- Decision-making in real conditions: route planning, assessing current snow and avalanche factors, and teamwork strategies.
- Practical exercises with avalanche equipment (transceiver, shovel, probe), including victim search drills and rescue maneuvers.
The course is led by an experienced IFMGA mountain guide who ensures a safe, practical, and immersive learning experience. Participants leave with not only technical knowledge but also the confidence to move independently and safely in avalanche-prone areas.
