About me
My name is Maksim Sotnik, and I’m a certified IFMGA mountain guide based in Chamonix, France.
Mountains have always been part of my life — first as a climber and skier, and later as a professional guide.
Over the years I’ve guided clients on classic alpine routes and remote ski tours across the Alps and other mountain ranges.
I believe that every ascent or descent is not just about reaching a summit, but about sharing authentic experiences in a wild environment — safely, respectfully, and with passion.

Once we agree on the plan, I’ll send you all the practical details and a short gear list.
A deposit is usually required to confirm the booking — the balance can be paid on the spot. -
What’s Included- Professional guiding by an IFMGA/UIAGM certified mountain guide

Required ExperienceEach program has its own difficulty level — from beginner to advanced.
If you’re unsure which trip suits you best, I’ll be happy to recommend the right one based on your fitness, skills, and goals. -
Gear & EquipmentA detailed equipment list will be sent to you before the trip.
If you don’t have all the gear, rental options are available in Chamonix (helmets, crampons, harnesses, avalanche kits, etc.).
I can help organize rentals in advance if needed. -
Insurance & SafetyEvery participant must have insurance that covers mountain rescue and helicopter evacuation in France and Switzerland.
Safety is always the top priority — programs may be adapted or rescheduled depending on weather, snow, or avalanche conditions. -
Meeting PointMost programs start in the Chamonix valley — at your accommodation, the Aiguille du Midi cable car, or another agreed location.
For multi-day trips, we’ll define meeting times and logistics individually. -
Cancellation PolicyPlans can change — if you need to cancel, please let me know as early as possible.
Deposits are generally non-refundable but can be transferred to another date if conditions allow.
